In the early 90 there was a rash of gang related murders in the City of Boston. I was commissioned by Gang Peace, to put a face to the senseless crimes on our city streets. While painting the mural, a young boy named Dominic Mount was murdered, on the very corner where the mural was being painted. There was an immediate outcry from the community about this murder, and the mural was dedicated in his honor. The figures in the mural are of African American leaders, Fredrick Douglas, W.E.B Dubois, Malcolm X and Elijah Muhammad.
